A hand-knotted plush pile wool rug with stripes, made of 100% New Zealand wool on a cotton and wool foundation. Ciel has a pastel color palette of baby blue, powder blue, and cream. Despite its thick shaggy construction, there’s a lightness to this piece. In creating the Watercolor Collection, our designers wanted to create a blurry effect, like what you see when you look at watercolors. They’re not your standard preppy stripe: the more you walk on this piece, the more the line will move, and they’ll read even blurrier. But what makes this rug extra special is its materiality. New Zealand wool is a premium wool beloved for its softness and long fibers. Like all wools, it has a hydrophobic layer which repels dust and dirt, as well as lanolin, which provides its trademark luster and protects the fiber from breaking or shedding. It's woven onto a warp that’s a combination of wool and sturdy cotton, for body and durability. Please note: as with all handmade pieces, slight variations in size may occur.
