Essential Festival Outfit Pieces

Before exploring our favorite festival outfit pieces, consider the vibe you are going for, which could (but totally doesn’t have to), align with the vibes of your favorite performers: Want a classic boho chic festival look? Vibrant colors and flowy pieces like maxi skirts and dresses paired will help complete that look.

Feeling more edgy, rock-star vibes? Sleek or baggy pants and graphics are a great outfit base.

Looking for a western outfit? Cowboy boots, cowboy hats and fringe will complement this vibe.

Feeling glitz and glam? Metallic, sequin & studded pieces will be your friend.

Remember you will be dancing, walking, singing and dealing with whatever the weather brings so you will want to dress to keep up with the vibes but still look cute.

Tops

Going out tops are a festival classic. Materials like sheer, crotchet, mesh options will take your look to the next level. For styles, some of our favorite includes bodysuits, bra tops, crop tops, corsets & asymmetrical designs. A going out top is perfect for making statements and will be a piece you can totally wear again.

Our other favorite top options are graphic tees. Easily support your favorite artist, sports team or bring some fun design to your look with one of statement making tees. (And if you want more tips on styling graphics, check out our graphics guide.

Lastly, depending on the weather, you will really want to think about the material and sleeve length. Mesh, linen, and lightweight cotton will keep you cool while in the crowds. Of course, strapless + tank tops are good for warmer months, and you can always bring layering pieces.

Layering Pieces

Speaking of layering pieces, we could not recommend them more for music festivals. Flannels, fringe jackets, denim jackets, oversized jackets are all great options for those warm days and chilly summer & spring nights. Just simply tie around your waist or drape around your shoulders when you don’t need it.

P.S. Check that rain forecast the day before and grab a rain jacket and boots to avoid getting soaked and muddy.

Bottoms

Fun pants and bottoms are our fave outfit staples. And what better time to feature statement-making bottoms than a festival? Here are some of our personal faves.

To no surprise, we love a baggy pant, not only for the flattering fit but it will give you some extra comfort & breathability for a long day on your feet.

Micro bottoms are a must-have statement pieces you will see this festival season. Micro shorts, skorts and skirts are all the rave and will surely elevate your look.

To make a glam statement, explore metallic, sequins or the on-trend animal print bottoms.

Keep it classic and pair your statement going out top with a denim or cargo bottom.

We are also loving balloon + bubble hems this year. Bubble hem skirts + balloon pants will create depth to any look.

Going for the forever on-trend boho femme festival look? Maxi skirts, lace bottoms + bow embellishments should certainly be your friends.

Dresses

Looking for a free-spirited, maybe even a country music festival look? Flowy midis and maxis will be your go-to for femme looks.

Going out dresses (think mini, leather, satin, lace styles) are perfect for raves and other edgy festival looks.

If you are looking for an on-trend spin on one and done dressing, a matching set will add a bit of flair to the classic dress look.

Wear Footwear for All-Day Comfort

To be real, footwear might be the most important outfit choice you make. Yes, they can make or break your outfit, but the comfort level can make or break your festival experience. So, let’s talk through some practical yet on-trend options.

Sneakers

Tried-and-true, sneakers will never be a wrong choice. They don’t need to be boring; we have platform sneakers, high-tops, and endless color choices, your sneakers can take your fit to the next level.

Sandals

If you want to opt for a sandal, we recommend avoiding flip flops and fully open-toed options because ouch to being stepped on by someone in a heel. Styles like clogs and fisherman sandals will add more straps, coverage and support to your shoe game.

Boots

Boots are a forever classic for festivals. Cowboy boots will add western flair, while rain boots are needed for those muddy days. For the cooler festivals, knee-high boots will make a statement too.

Embellished Footwear

If you are into glam, adding a pop to with your shoes will never go out of style. Our fav stand-out styles include metallic and bedazzled boots, shiny flats, buckle features + glitter sneakers.

Incorporate Statement-Making Accessories

Don’t forget the finishing touches for your festival vibe. From practical essentials to statement pieces, the right accessories can make or break your look (and comfort).

Sunglasses: Protect your eyes from the sun while also adding personal flair to your outfit. Oversized sunglasses, round and square frames are some of our favorit>

Hats: Similarly, for those extra sunny days, protect your face from the sun. On-trend trucker hats and bucket hats are festival classics.

Fanny packs + backpacks: Hands-free storage options are a must at music festivals. Perfect for carrying your phone, wallet, sunscreen + any other must-hav>

Body Gems: For a fun and glitzy way to accessorize, consider adding body gems.

Top it off with Festival-Ready Makeup

Last but certainly not least, add festival-ready makeup to your look. Some of our tips to keep your makeup fresh all day long include:

Start with a good primer and setting spray to ensure your makeup stays put.

For your base, consider long-wearing, matte foundation or tinted moisturizer to avoid a shiny complexion. Trust us, festivals can get hot.

Vibrant, bold eye looks are always a hit at festivals. Try a colorful crease, glitter eyeshadow or liners in neon shades.

Waterproof mascara will prevent your eye makeup from smudging.

For cheeks, cream blushes and bronzers tend to last longer than powders.

Top it off with a lightweight, transfer-proof lip product like a liquid lipstick or lip oil and don’t forget to put these in your fanny packs or bags for easy reapplication.

With our tips that will make your outfit stand out from the crowd, we hope this outfitting guide makes you pumped for that next festival.
