Summer in the City with Vivian Li
Finally, finally warm weather is upon us! We teamed up with Vivian Li, a researcher and content creator living in New York City, to talk about warm weather outfits, her favorite summertime NYC haunts, and what she's looking forward to wearing when it's hot and humid in the city.
Tell us your five favorite places you like to visit in NYC in the summer and what you love about them:
Kiki's on the Lower East Side. They have amazing outdoor seating, on probably the quietest street you can get in the area. I always get some wine and sit through lunch to soak up the best sun hours.
Riverside Park -- the less famous, less crowded sister to Central Park. Luckily I live right across the park on the Westside, so I like to take my dog Jellybean out for her evening walks when the sunsets.
Friends & Lovers in Brooklyn for going out. Very casual but energetic crowd.
Hungarian Pastry Shop -- another location for my uptown girls. They close down Amsterdam on the weekends for more outdoor seating. I love grabbing an iced coffee here + some pastries to catch up with friends.
The roof on top of the MET. Not a secret but also hidden just well enough that sometimes you get moments to yourself to overlook Central Park and the rest of New York City.
What’s your favorite outfit to wear when it’s hot out and you’re feeling lazy?
The perfect recipe for a lazy summer's day outfit is all-white monochrome. Especially cooling fabrics such as linen, it just makes you put together without trying.
How do you like to feel a little bit more dressed up in the summer?
This summer, my micro-mini skirt is working overtime. My go-to outfit recipe is a black mini with knee-high boots with a statement top.
