Age and Jihad's Festival Diary
Three days in the desert, experiencing a star-studded festival amongst the heat and the dust, can be a lot, and there can be a lot to capture. Because we didn't want to miss a moment, we sent Age and Jihad, a couple hailing from NYC, out to the desert with a couple film cameras and a few pairs of Converse. Below, see what they got up to during the long weekend and why it's an exciting respite from everyday life.
How did you prepare for the weekend?
Truthfully, It was almost like everything just happened all at once. We were literally unsure about where we were going to sleep until arriving Thursday night before the festival. Gratefully, we have amazing friends and everything worked out and it couldn’t have been a more perfect experience.
Which performance did you like the most and why?
Hands down Ari Lennox. She was the first performance we saw so that alone is special.
Best food you ate while there?
There were so many food options and everything I (Age) had was delicious, but there was a particular place that had chicken and rice where I had a moment with Teyanna Taylor about sauce.
On a scale of 1-10, how tired were you when it was all finally over?
