Hispanic Heritage Month

All month long, Urban Outfitters is celebrating the identities, journeys, and voices of our Hispanic & Latine communities.

Our Voces de la Comunidad (Community Voices) initiative is dedicated to uplifting and celebrating these inspired, complex, and unique stories. Providing platform and opportunity, UO is teaming up with 6 artists spanning from muralists, to designers, to sculptors. Each artist takes us through their work and how their cultural identity and communities have informed their art.

Meet each artist below and stay tuned in all month long on our social channels to get to know them more!

Mexican-born, Denver-based artist Brayan Montes-Terrazas, better known as YAMZ, creates unwavering identity-driven art that stresses the importance of putting marginalized voices at the forefront of our conversations and the stories we tell. Driven by the essential need to tell the stories of his own identity, Brayan uses art and design show others that they are not alone in the fight toward equity justice and sound mental health. “My art has many themes but the throughline to it all is the identities that I hold. As a queer person and an immigrant, I have experienced life differently. I use my identities to fuel my art, this allows me to connect with other folks with the same identities and show them that we are not alone in this world."
