Destiny Joseph
(@isthisfate)

Each week, we're spending 5 minutes with some of our closest collaborators from the UO Community to learn a little bit more about them and what makes them tick. Here, Destiny Joseph talks to us about the benefits of trying to learn yoga and what it’s like being a student right now.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m from Boston, Massachusetts where I’m currently a college student studying Anthropology.
What do you like to do when you’re spending time alone?
I love to watch movies, no matter what genre. As long as it is entertaining…
Where is your favorite spot in your home? Why?
My favorite spot in my house would have to be my room because I can let loose and feel calm and relaxed. It’s like my safe space.
Describe your ideal day at home.
I would wake up late, around 11 or 12. I would have breakfast consisting of Belgian waffles, eggs, and bacon. I’d talk to my family for a few hours. Then, I’d snuggle up in bed with some popcorn and watch movies. Maybe I’d online window shop. I also like to do one creative thing a day, whether that’s taking pictures, drawing, writing in my journal, or doing my nails. Just something that allows me to express myself.
What’s your favorite way to unwind?
I like to meditate and deep belly breathe!

Shop The Look

When you’re feeling down, what’s one thing that will always cheer you up?
My favorite food, which is ramen.
Something new you’ve been trying to learn?
I’ve been really interested in trying yoga. I’ve been watching a lot of beginner’s yoga videos on YouTube.
What’s one thing that is guaranteed to make you happy?
When others are happy around me.
Favorite account to follow on social media? Why?
@70s_home_decor because I love the colors and different styles that were popular within houses in the ‘70s. It’s definitely nothing like today’s interior designs.
What are you watching right now?
Romantic comedy movies.
