UO Renewal: Pentimento, Reclaimed Los Angeles, 4x1111, Tried And True Co. and 2nd Base Vintage
This month, UO is excited to launch a Renewal Shop at Herald Square, NYC (1333 Broadway) featuring work from five talented creatives focused on utilizing vintage finds and dead stock fabric. Read on for a closer look at each of the brands and make sure to check them out in person at our Herald Square store.
PENTIMENTO
Created by Atlanta-based designer Timothy Haught, Pentimento is about doing the best you can with limited resources and the transformative power of work.
RECLAIMED LOS ANGELES
Established in 2016, Reclaimed Los Angeles has been focused on upcycling vintage clothing and carefully curating hand-selected pieces. They take pride in sourcing garments that have their own individual story behind them and bringing them together to make one unique piece.
4x1111
"4x1111 has always been about creating wearable art," shop owner John Michael tells UO. "Ever since I first started, I really liked the idea of making limited pieces that only a handful of people can say they own! Like, it's crazy to think that 100 people can be the only ones in the world who own a certain crewneck. It's insane to me." With this third UO collection, there are 40 tapestry pieces ranging from crewnecks and cardigans to hoodies. All are made 1/1!
TRIED AND TRUE CO.
Tried And True Co., established in 2012, has made its mark as the sole vintage boutique blending modern era culture with nostalgic '90s classics. Presenting a complete make-up of the beginnings of streetwear, or what some call “hip hop fashion,” this encompasses brands such as Nike, Polo, adidas, DKNY, Starter, Tommy Hilfiger and many more. On the cusp of real-time fashion and pop up trends, Tried And True Co. promotes the well-built, timeless dime piece for those who believe in choice products. They hunt for men, women and children – including jackets, crewneck sweatshirts, windbreakers, t-shirts, jerseys and more.
2ND BASE VINTAGE
Based in the Lehigh Valley, 2nd Base Vintage is a shop focused on upcycling clothing from the '80s, '90s and early 2000s that has novelty and collectability.
