Serge DeNimes + UO: Oliver Proudlock On The Exclusive Collection
Introducing the exclusive Serge DeNimes + UO jewellery collaboration. Designed in London and made from 925 Sterling Silver, this iconic unisex collection features signet rings, symbolic pendants, chains and bracelets. We caught up with founder and designer, Oliver Proudlock, to find out everything we need to know - from design inspiration to his favourite piece of jewellery in history.
Tell us about the exclusive Serge DeNimes + UO collection and how it came about?
We have stocked with UO over a couple seasons now. Collaborating is very much part of our ethos, and were extremely excited for this collection. We wanted to create a small capsule collection with UO, all made from sterling silver using unisex designs.
What’s your favourite piece in the collection and tell us the inspiration behind it?
The Love ring - 2020 has been a tough year for so many, and this slogan has more power than ever.
What factors do you take into consideration when designing unisex pieces?
Gender neutral rings tend to be smaller, perfect for hands of all sizes. With the necklaces it's important to have adjustable chains so they can be layered and worn at different lengths depending on your style.
Do you think unisex jewellery holds greater significance as it is often used to symbolise connection and solidarity?
Since day one we have always seen ourselves as a unisex brand, as we don’t feel clothes or jewellery should be defined by gender. It doesn’t matter if your male or female, it’s about how jewellery makes you feel.
Where do you go to get new ideas and kickstart your creative vision?
We get inspired daily by our immediate surroundings: the chaotic, culturally diverse and volatile urban atmosphere. We always start with looking at what's around us; street style and current trends. Then we head to museums and galleries to refine the vision and get inspired.
You connect with many diverse and emerging artists in your Serge Meets… series and you have a loyal creative community. With that in mind, who is Serge DeNimes designed for and why?
A creative community has always been key to our DNA. We want to always act as a platform for young, talented and passionate individuals, as well as support them through their challenges. We are a brand built by creatives for creatives.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given? Stay positive no matter what.

What’s next for Serge DeNimes?
The past 3 years since focusing more and more on jewellery has been super exciting. We have found our USP, and our community has gone from strength to strength. We aim to continue to build our presence and collections within jewellery, but also start to bring back our clothing. Having just launched our first small capsule collection of 6 pieces, all made here in the UK, we look forward to building this up over the next few years to come. Also without giving too much away, we may be opening our own concept store in the not so distant future, keep a look out for updates on our social media platforms @sergedenimes.
3 tracks I currently have on repeat are…
Popstar - DJ Khaled Ft. Drake
What’s Poppin’ - Jack Harlow ft. DaBaby, Lil Wayne, Tory Lanez
Watermelon Sugar - Harry Styles
My top book recommendation atm is… Shoe Dog: A Memoir By the Creator of Nike
My favourite piece of jewellery in history is… our Silver Padlock Necklace - the first necklace we produced, inspired by my family crest.
I’d love to create a custom piece for… Pharrell. My style icon.
The best advice I could give young creatives is… believe in yourself and your talent, no one does it like you. Live and breath it every day.
