Meet Millie Grace Horton, Art Director and Editor of Seine Magazine
Get to know Art Director, Founder of Seine Magazine and Model, Millie Grace Horton. Influenced by strong women and inspiring surroundings she chats to UO about her creative work space and challenging her love of photography into a career.
“Named after the River Seine in Paris, I created Seine Magazine during my third year studying Fashion Communication at Central Saint Martins. The brief was super vague but I always knew I wanted to involve women and thought my love of portraits would be complemented by interviews. 3 years later it’s online only but I’m hoping to do a launch in a gallery space with my friend of all the portraits we’ve shot.
I find an honest portrait of somebody is quite amazing, I love people in their raw self. I started with a list of women who have inspired me in my life and interviewed the subjects in their chosen space. It’s far more interesting talking to people in a place that is completely foreign to me in terms of a creative source. For me my creative space is water. I love swimming as I grew up by the sea. It’s an amazing space to heal, to meditate, to think - you can’t be distracted so you’re stuck in your thoughts. I swim nearly everyday and for me, it’s my space where I’m able to channel my own creative energy.”
