UO Hidden Neighbourhoods Episode 3 Ft. Levi's
This summer, we’re exploring the areas loved by our UO Community. For our third episode of UO Hidden Neighbourhoods, we’ve teamed up with Levi’s for a day trip in Rotterdam with Kanea Blokland @kanea.indigo and friends. Get out there and tag us in your #UOHiddenNeighbourhoods.
Tell us something about the area that you only know by being a local… Rotterdam was bombed down during WW2, after which they had to rebuild the entire city. It was the only city in the Netherlands that was bombed, and so to this day it stands out due to its new architecture. The rest of the Netherlands has more of an old-school look, but Rotterdam has always looked renewed and fresh due to its history.

Het Nieuwe Instituut, Museumpark and the waterside at Vasteland.
What’s your route through your neighbourhood for someone who has never been before…
Start at the waterside of Vasteland to clear your mind and look at the waves pushing and pulling in. Grab your friends, walk to Het Nieuwe Instituut for a drink and check to see if there's a DJ playing - enjoy the music and have a dance. Then head on over to Museumpark where you can read, play music and catch the sunset.
Describe the atmosphere of your neighbourhood in 3 words… refreshed, open and curious.
Advice to someone visiting your neighbourhood for the first time… you can always go to Witte de Withstraat for drinks, people watching or just to wander around to find something to do at night. It's an entire street full of cafes, pubs, restaurants and bars. There are also some art galleries on Witte de With and in some of the streets around it you'll find a queer clubscene.

How do you style your Levi's?
I love denim on denim, so I style my Levi's with a long-sleeve denim top and a clean white tee. On easy days, I pair my Levi’s with a basic white tank top and boots.
What's your go-to Levi's fit right now?
The Levi's Skate Baggy shorts. I love the dark colour, they're super comfy and easy to combine with different tops.
Low-rise or high-rise?
I used to be team high-rise, but I've officially moved to low-rise.
