Study Tips
…that actually work
1. Stick to a routine and always remember to take breaks.
2. Use mind mapping and always start with the module or project you find most challenging.
3. If work becomes overwhelming, make a list and split tasks into to do, progress, and completed.
4. Make sure you set an alarm…nobody wants to turn up to a lecture late.
5. Listen to your tutor and write up your notes after your lecture.
6. Don’t cram your work in the night before it’s due - be consistent with your workflow.
7. Don't burn the candle at both ends - although easier said than done!
8. Get a KeepCup for when you need coffee on the go after a night out.

Freshers Week
Things to know
Freshers can sometimes feel like a lot, but remember everyone is in the same position as you. My advice would be: don’t stress if you don’t find your group straight away, you get to know different people along the way; get involved, attend events and check out your student union…it’s all about trying new things and having fun; and enjoy the ride and relax! P.s Freshers flu is REAL.
Tip: A great icebreaker for your new friends or flatmates is a card game.

Make it yours
Feel right at home
Leaving home is exciting and you can make your accommodation feel like your own. It’s important to take home comforts with you as well as new pieces to make it yours. Top tips in making your room as cosy as possible are:
1. Take pictures of friends and family to make you feel close to them.
2. Put fairy lights around your room to create a relaxed atmosphere.
3. Add plants to energise and freshen up small spaces.
4. Decorate with cushions, throws and rugs to bring colour.
5. Stack coffee table books for inspo.
6. Sleep well with new bedding.

Hall must-haves
Trust me, you’re gonna need these…
1. Crocs or sliders - for walking around the kitchen…remember not everyone is as clean as you.
2. Storage dividers - use crates to store food and kitchenware (no stolen snacks or forks here please)
3. Door hooks & ladders - ideal for storing you new uni fits
4. Extension leads & extra chargers - there’s always one flatmate who’s a charger thief
5. Speakers - share your love of music with your new flatmates

Make a statement
Your new journey calls for new fits. From fresher events to house parties and first lectures, here’s some inspo on what to pack in your suitcase. Look to Light Before Dark for an effortless dress, style Baggy Tech Pants with a Josie Top for a relaxed look and don’t forget to take an iets frans… fleece for when temp drops.
Tip: Don’t bring heels, they’ll stay in your wardrobe.
