How To:
Pick your colours
Mix equal parts paint and 2-Soft fabric medium (ratio 1:1). When heat-set, fabric medium will protect your design and help keep the trainer surface soft and supple after being painted
Go for it - customise your kicks!
Here, I started with a neon drip effect around the top of the trainer.

Tips:
Neon acrylics look sick! If you’re using different colours in your design, paint lighter areas first and leave to dry before going in with darker shades so you don’t get them mixing and bleeding together
If you’re going for a geometric design or want some sharp lines - use scotch tape to mark it out to get straight, clean edges
Colour blocking your kicks is simple and effective. Choose three colours and paint the sides and tongue in different colours

Draw your design lightly in pencil before you paint
Don’t be afraid to apply and go over your design with multiple layers of paint. You need to saturate the fabric to achieve bold colour
Use a waterproof marker pen to outline lettering or details
Old jam jars are great for mixing paints, you can get mini ones
Use fine brushes for details
