Guest List: Bossy LDN
How did you meet?
IZZY: Well, I actually met Dee on a shoot because I used to be a stylist and we just started talking and I haven’t stopped speaking to her since to be honest!
### Favourite new track?
DEE: I’d say my favourite new track is Rico Nasty’s new song Lightning.
IZZY: I absolutely love music so that’s a really hard question for me, but, it has to be either Captain Hook or Savage by Megan The Stallion, because she’s just reppin’ us girls right now.
### What’s on your quarantine playlist?
DEE: __ I’ve been listening to Lil Uzi Vert’s new album, Eternal Atake, and 21 Savage, always. Also Luther Vandross - Give Me The Reason.
### What’s the first thing you’re going to do out of isolation?
__IZZY: When I come out of isolation, the first thing I am doing is these acrylics - because they are NOT cute right now!
DEE: First thing I’m gonna do when I come out of quarantine… well, I’ll see you, Izzy! Because we haven’t seen each other in so long, and we normally see each other, literally, every single day! I’ve also really missed DJing too.
### Do you have any tips for mixing different music genres?
IZZY: I always say for mixing different genres, you need to practice and know your music. They’re the two main tips I would say. Practice. Know your music.
### How did you get into DJing?
IZZY: I’ve always been around music and interested in music. When I was younger, I used to get cassette tapes and record off the radio and make my own little mix tapes. But I wanted to do it for a long time and it took a while, but once you start, it’s amazing. I’m so happy that I DJ.
### Top IG accounts to follow?
DEE: Definitely one to follow is @mignonettetakespictures, it just has the cutest content, lots of little, fuzzy, cute animals and interiors, and all sorts of things - it’s just really nice to look at! @Moethecomedian, obviously we all need a laugh right now, and he cracks me up so bad! @cutcreaser - she is a make-up artist and she does really cute looks, all kinds of different eye looks, with like coloured eyeliners - it basically makes me want to sit and do my make-up, and I’m obsessed with make-up so that’s a really good one to follow. And obviously follow @bossyldn! You can see everything we’re up to, we have playlists, we have podcasts, we have parties (obviously, when we can do it again), but you can see it all there!
### Who are your style icons?
DEE: __I don’t have any particular style icons, but, I love menswear, I love Japanese style, I love buying vintage, and also all of the men’s outfits in the film Paid in Full.
__IZZY: __My style icons are my mum and my aunts, ‘cos they still do, they just dress so sick and for my whole upbringing, I just love how they dressed me, it’s basically exactly the same!
### What controllers do you guys use?
__DEE: So we don’t actually use controllers, we use CDJs and the brand is Pioneer, CDJ-2000, with a mixer which is normally a DJM-900 or more. If you can go to DJ places or find studios, or even if your friends have any equipment - I’d suggest practicing on that, that’s the set-up you’ll find in most clubs. Also the benefit of doing that, of DJing on CDJs, is that all you have to do is take your headphones and a couple of USBs. So yeah, I’d recommend trying to find somewhere you can practice on those.
