From post workout treats full of protein, to healthy hydration boosting green juices, Creative and PT Chloe Dorlika shares her favourite smoothie recipes you need to try.
Post Workout Banana and Peanut Butter Smoothie
I love drinking this after I’ve completed a full on, sweaty workout! It’s the perfect healthy milkshake; full of goodness and the added protein really helps replenish and feed your muscles post workout.
WHAT YOU NEED:
Milk - use your preferred milk, any will work fine. If you’re allergic to nuts, pop in some cacao instead to recreate that sweet and nutty taste.
Frozen banana - Tip: Frozen banana creates a smooth and creamy texture and is great for that extra energy boost. Bananas are a rich source of potassium, carbohydrates, fibre and natural sugar.
Peanut butter - delicious but also a great source of good fats and vegetarian-friendly protein.
Protein powder - helps with muscle recovery, especially if you’re vegan or vegetarian it helps get protein into your diet.
Cinnamon - the spice of life, I LOVE it in everything!
Chia seeds - for added fibre.
METHOD:
Step 1 - Add your ingredients starting with the frozen bananas, 2x big teaspoons of peanut butter, 1.5x teaspoons of protein powder, 2x teaspoons of chia seeds, a sprinkle of cinnamon and top with milk.
Step 2 - Time to blend! Tip: The peanut butter can get stuck, so give the Blendjet a shake to give the ingredients a mix around and chance to get to the blades.
Step 3 - Enjoy and unwind after your workout!

Green Goodness Juice
A great refreshing juice for any time of the day. I use juice as another source of hydration for that extra boost of energy. It’s especially great when I feel that afternoon slump creeping in, this juice gives me that extra power! I always go for green juice as it tastes less sweet and is an easy way to get more veg into my diet.
WHAT YOU NEED:
Celery - love it or hate it, this veggie is full of antioxidants and vitamins, plus celery is known to reduce inflammation and support digestion. Use it when it's crispy and don’t be afraid to blend the leaves too! I always try and aim for as little food waste as possible.
Apples - they keep the doctor away right? Also proven to brighten skin and clear blemishes. I suffer from breakouts, so I try to eat as many as I can to reap the benefits on the outside!
Lemon - great way to increase hydration and digestion. It’s a good ingredient to add a fresh zing to your juice. Goes well with the ginger and great for your immune system.
Ginger - a little bit addicted to this. I love the strong flavour and it’s packed with medicinal properties and a great way to boost your immune system.
Spinach - well, we all want to feel as strong as Popeye - need I say more?!
METHOD:
Step 1 - Prep your ingredients by chopping them into small chunks.
Step 2 - Add the apple, a thin slice of lemon (including the rind), a few chunks of chopped ginger (to taste), and the chopped celery and spinach to your Blendjet.
Step 3 - Blitz!
Step 4 - Pour into a glass and enjoy! Tip: add ice cubes for a refreshing

Rainbow Smoothie Bowl
Basically a dessert for breakfast. I like to play around with different toppings and base ingredients. As I use frozen fruit for this, it’s pretty much like ice cream with health benefits! You can also buy frozen fruit pretty cheaply which is another bonus.
YOU WILL NEED:
Smoothie:
Milk - use your preferred milk choice
Frozen banana
Frozen peach
Frozen raspberries
To Serve:
Blueberries
Kiwi
Passion fruit
Almonds
Granola
Chia Seeds
Here I’ve used a combination of frozen bananas, raspberries and peaches. I try to buy seasonal fruit because then you know it’s had less air miles and also tastes so much better! At the moment peaches remind me of being in Italy, so I have them every day- they’re just too tasty!
METHOD:
Step 1 - Add your milk followed by the frozen fruit. Tip: Adding milk first helps the frozen fruit on the Blendjet blades.
Step 2 - Blitz until smooth
Step 3 - Serve in a bowl and add any fruits, nuts, grains or topping of your choice! I went for blueberries, kiwi, passion fruit, almonds, granola and chia seeds. I make my own granola every week as it tastes so much better and has less refined sugars - also it’s so quick and easy!
Granola recipe:
I just chuck oats, desiccated coconut, seeds, chia seeds, nuts, cinnamon in an oven dish and drench it with heated olive oil, a little maple syrup and a little honey with crushed cardamom and bake for around 25 mins. Turn over throughout for an even toasty flavour.
