How are we styling summer plans?

Our group chats have been popping off with summer plans and outfit inspo. The festivals and holidays are booked - but we’re the type B friend that’s still not packed. We’re on the search for one-of-a-kind pieces and easy, transitional pieces that work for golden hour walks on city streets to relaxing for hours by the pool or beach. We need to know what to wear at the airport. What people are wearing at the beach. And what fits we should be bringing to catch our favourite headliners. We’ve asked one of our stylists to share key pieces for creating our summer fit rotation. Ready to take notes?

Here’s where we’re going:

What are we wearing at the airport?

When you’ve got a 5am flight time, comfort is the answer. Kickstart your holiday mood by dressing the part, throwing on a pair of most-hyped iets frans… Sid Joggers, a plain white vest and an oversized, boxy fit hoodie or zip-up that you can take off the second your plane lands. If you don’t love being outside in joggers, a pair of balloon trousers gives you that same comfort and relaxed fit, whilst still looking a bit more put together. When it comes to footwear, you want something light and easy on your feet. Throw on your Vibram FiveFingers Shoes for an effortless pair that offers a full range of motion so you can run to your gate.

What’s everyone wearing at the beach?

Your first must-have is your favourite bikini. From there, you can layer up and dress down as needed. Make your way down to the beach in an oversized graphic tee and a pair of cargo capri pants, throwing on a brightly coloured pair of Havaianas flip-flops whilst you search for the perfect sunbed. Another beach essential is the Jamie Poncho or a Knit Cape - a throw-on layer that acts as a coverup, a cute beach top, or can be worn as a skirt when you walk to the shop to grab some drinks and snacks. And the last must-wear on our list? Regular top-ups of your favourite SPF.

What festival looks are a must this season?

The plan finally made it out of the group chat. The festival’s been booked. Your tent’s been packed, or the hostel bunkbed has been secured. You’ve secured your ticket; now what are you wearing? Frogging is huge right now, and a Military Jacket adds a simple level of elevation to an otherwise clean look. Plan your day outfit - a bikini top, camo cargo pants or some slim-leg jeans like the Miko or Ryen - and grab a Military Jacket to throw on when it gets cold at night. Another go-to day outfit is a denim midi skirt and a strappy cami or bandeau top, ideally layered over your triangle bikini or under an open shirt. For footwear, don’t wear your best shoes. Reach for an old pair of Vans, Converse or worn-in biker boots - the comfier the better for dancing from the evening till the early hours.

What’s the key takeaway?

SS26 styling is all about feeling unapologetically you. Combining unique layers and experimenting with key pieces to totally individual outfits whatever your plans. Thanks to our UO Stylist I think we’ve got our packing list locked in.
