What is UO’s Return Policy?

You can return or exchange any unworn, unwashed or defective merchandise by mail or at one of our US or Canada store locations. Returns made within 30 days of the order shipment date will be refunded to the original form of payment. Returns made after 30 days of the order shipment date will be refunded via an emailed e-merchandise credit.

What is your Holiday Return Policy?

Our Holiday Return Policy applies to all purchases made from October 1, 2014 through December 25, 2014. We will gladly accept these items if returned by February 28, 2015.

If you are returning a gift and are not the original purchaser, please be sure to indicate the item you would like in exchange and any changes to the delivery address. You should also indicate if you would prefer to have a Gift Card mailed to you if your exchange is out of stock. Please note, if no replacement item or Gift Card is requested, the return credit will apply to the original form of payment used to make the purchase.

What are my return & exchange options?

Use your prepaid (FREE!) SmartLabel?

  • Fill out the Return + Exchange Form on your packing list
  • Place in a securely sealed package along with your item(s)
  • Save a copy of your 12-digit order number (upper left-hand corner of your packing list)
  • Affix the pre-paid, pre-addressed shipping label to your package
  • Ensure old shipping labels are removed or obscured
  • Postage is not required
  • Drop your package in a mailbox, give it to your postal carrier, schedule a free carrier pickup, or take it to any authorized USPS facility

Returns Without a prepaid SmartLabel?

  • Fill out your Return + Exchange Form and place it in your secure shipping container
  • Ensure there are no other shipping or tracking labels attached to your package
  • Use a trackable and insured shipping method; we cannot accept COD returns. Please note: Urban Outfitters is not responsible for any returns that are lost or stolen while in transit
  • Include your order number on the return label

Our US and Canadian stores will gladly accept your Urbanoutfitters.com return! Your return must be accompanied by your packing list.

Within 30 days: The original method of payment will be refunded in full
After 30 days: A merchandise credit will be issued for the price paid
Gift Return: A standard gift card will be sent to the shipping address

How do I return or exchange my item if I am an international customer?

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a pre-paid SmartLabel for International orders. Please be sure to send your return or exchange using a method that provides a tracking number so you can follow its journey!

  • Simply fill out the return & exchange form on your packing list and place it in a securely sealed shipping container, making sure that all old shipping labels are removed or obscured.

Need an exchange? To ensure availability of your replacement item, you may place a new order for the item you would like in exchange. If you would like to make an exchange using your packing list, please keep in mind that the applicable shipping fees will be applied to your new order. Any shipping fees associated with returned or exchanged merchandise is the responsibility of the customer and will not be refunded.

You can also return merchandise ordered online to any of our stores located in the US and Canada. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept returns from Urbanoutfitters.com at our locations outside of the US or Canada.

How do I return or exchange my item(s) if my order was shipped to Australia?

Orders shipped to Australia are eligible for in-country returns. Click here to return your order with a customized Australia shipping label and follow the directions listed to the left of the label.

  • Fill out your return form and place it in a securely sealed shipping container.
  • Make sure that all old shipping labels are removed or obscured on your package.
  • Affix the pre-paid shipping label to your container. Please use clear plastic tape to cover the entire label.
  • No postage is required! Simply drop your package in a mailbox or at an Australia Post location.
  • Remember to save a copy of your 12-digit order number found in the upper left-hand corner of your packing list.

Please note there is a fee of $5.00 USD that will be deducted from your refund.

Unfortunately, exchanges are not available when using this return method. Items can only be returned for a refund. If you would like a replacement item, please place another order online.

How do I return or exchange a gift?
  • Be sure to note that you are returning a gift and fill out any updated shipping information on your packing list.
  • Simply fill out the return & exchange form on your packing list and place it in a securely sealed shipping container, making sure that old shipping labels are removed or obscured.
  • Drop your package in a mailbox, give it to your postal carrier or take it to any authorized USPS facility.
  • Remember to save a copy of your 12-digit order number found in the upper left-hand corner of your packing list.
How long will it take for my return or exchange to process?

We will email you once your return or exchange is processed. Please allow 2-3 weeks from the time you mail your return/exchange for it to be processed. If you've requested an exchange, we will waive the standard shipping fee on your new order if it is shipping to the US.

Do you offer price adjustments?

We're happy to issue a one-time price adjustment for an item from our catalog or website if it goes on sale within 14 days of your order’s shipment date. A refund for the price difference will be issued back to the original form of payment. If you used a Gift Card to make your purchase, a new Gift Card will be issued reflecting the difference. Urbanoutfitters.com is unable to grant price adjustments for purchases made in retail stores. Please contact our stores for more information.

How do I track a pre-paid return?

Please click the link below and enter the 12-character order number found on the upper left-hand corner of your packing slip.

If you no longer have the order number from your packing slip and would like to track your return, please contact us for assistance. Please allow 2-3 business days from the date you mailed your return for tracking information to become available, and 2-3 weeks for your return to be processed and credited.

Does Urban Outfitters offer free return pickups?

When using your pre-paid shipping label to make a return, the US Postal Service will provide free carrier pick-up. If you wish to schedule a free carrier pick-up for your return, affix the pre-paid, pre-addressed return label to your package and schedule a pickup for the next delivery day. Your postal carrier will pick-up your package(s) when your regular mail is delivered. Please note: Packages must be ready for shipment before your carrier arrives. Maximum weight per package is 70lbs.

I lost my packing list – what do I do?

If you've lost your packing slip and you are the original purchaser, log in to your account and click on Order Status. Click on the order you wish to return, print out the Order Summary page and include it with the items you would like to return. If you are making an exchange, please make note of the new item(s). If you need a new pre-paid return label or if you are not the original purchaser, please contact customer service via email or phone at (800) 282-2200. Please provide either the order number or the name of the purchaser and shipping address so we are able to locate the original order.

What if my product is damaged or defective?

If you receive a damaged or defective item, please call (800) 282-2200 and we will help you exchange or return the item.

Can I return an item I purchased in store?

Urbanoutfitters.com is unable to process returns for purchases made in retail stores. Please contact our stores for more information.

Can I return or exchange an item that is older than 30 days?

Yes! You can return or exchange any unworn, unwashed or defective merchandise by mail or at one of our US or Canada store locations. Returns made after 30 days of the order shipment date will be refunded via a merchandise credit.

How do I return furniture?

We guarantee the quality of our furniture (free of manufacture defect), for up to one year from purchase.

Furniture shipped within the continental US may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of delivery. After 30 days, you'll receive a Merchandise Credit valid for use in any of our US locations or on Urbanoutfitters.com. Furniture returns must be protected during transit so that they arrive back to us in like-new condition. Shipping fees are the responsibility of the customer. Unfortunately, we cannot refund shipping charges. Taxes will be credited in accordance with state laws.
