Holiday Return Policy

We will gladly accept returns of merchandise purchased from October 1st, 2009, through Dec 25th, until Feb 28th, 2010. If you indicate that you are returning a gift, we’ll send a gift card for the value of the refund to the address you specify on the packing list.

Returns & Exchanges

We want you to love what you ordered. If something is not right please follow the directions below to make a return or exchange, online or to a store, within 30 days of receiving your purchase. Your refund will be credited back to the original method of payment. Once credited, allow up to two billing cycles for the credit to appear on your monthly billing statement. If you have paid with a gift card a new gift card will be mailed to your billing address for the refund amount. We'll email you once we've received and processed your return or exchange. Please allow 2 – 3 weeks from the time you mail your order for your return or exchange to be processed.

We are unable to guarantee that exchange merchandise will be available at the time your order is processed; in these instances your original form of payment will be refunded.

If you are returning or exchanging a gift please follow the Return/Exchange instructions below. Make a note in the Comments area of your packing slip that you would like a gift card if your exchange is not available.

Web Returns

FREE Pre-Paid Returns & Exchanges

urbanoutfitters.com is pleased to provide a pre-paid, pre-addressed shipping label with most shipments. Your pre-paid label is located on the bottom right hand side of your packing list. Simply follow the directions below to complete your return or exchange.

  1. Complete the return and exchange form on your packing list & place it in your securely sealed shipping container.
  2. Save a copy of the 15 character order number found in the upper left hand corner of your packing list. You can use this number to track your return. Example of order number: V12345678910101, P123456489120101
  3. Affix the pre-paid, pre-addressed shipping label, found on the bottom right hand side of the front of your packing list, to your shipping container and ensure old shipping labels are removed or obscured. No Postage is required and the pre-paid label is FREE!
  4. Drop your package in a mailbox, give it to your postal carrier, schedule a free carrier pickup, or take it to any authorized USPS facility.
  5. We'll email you once your return or exchange is processed. Please allow 2 – 3 weeks from the time you mail your return/exchange for it to be processed.
  6. If you've requested an exchange, we'll waive the standard shipping on your new order.
    • We are unable to include a pre-paid label for some oversized items or for orders shipped outside of the continental U.S., in these cases, please follow the Non Pre-Paid Label Return directions below.

Non Pre-Paid Returns & Exchanges

We are unable to include a pre-paid shipping label for some oversized merchandise or for items shipped outside of the continental U.S. If your order arrived without a pre-paid label, please follow the directions below.

  1. Complete the return and exchange form on your packing list & place it in your securely sealed shipping container.
  2. Address the return parcel as shown below:

  3. Ship your package using a trackable and insured shipping method.
  4. We'll email you once your return or exchange is processed. Please allow 2 – 3 weeks from the time you mail your return/exchange for it to be processed.

    • We're sorry, but we cannot accept COD returns.

Store Returns

If you've purchased something online and would like to return it to a store or vice-versa, please follow the directions below.

Returning Web Purchases to a Store

To return merchandise purchased from urbanoutfitters.com to any of our stores in the U.S., bring the packing slip included with your order, as well as the credit card used to make the purchase and your photo id. Please be aware refunds must be made to the same credit card used to make the original purchase. In the absence of the original credit card, a merchandise credit for use in our U.S. stores or on urbanoutfitterrs.com will be issued. Unfortunately, stores outside of the U.S. are unable to process urbanoutfitters.com returns.

Please note items listed online as Web Exclusive are not available in our stores. If the item you would like for exchange is not available in the store, the store will be happy to issue you a merchandise credit.

Returning Store Purchases to the Web

Unfortunately, Urban Outfitters store purchases cannot be returned online.

Our Urban Outfitters stores gladly accept returns of any unwashed, unworn, unused, or defective merchandise at any time accompanied by an original sales receipt. For items returned within 30 days from the date of purchase, the original method of payment will be refunded (checks/debit are refunded as cash). For items returned after 30 days from the date of purchase, a Merchandise Credit will be issued for the price paid.

For merchandise returned without an original receipt, a Merchandise Credit will be issued for the current retail-selling price of the item(s) returned. Valid photo identification is required for all returns without a receipt.

A one-time price adjustment will be granted when an original sales receipt is presented within 14 days of purchase.

Return Policies

I No Longer Have a Packing List

If you've lost your packing slip and you are the original purchaser, please follow the directions below. If you are not the original purchaser and do not have the packing list please contact Customer Service, at 800-959-8794 from 8am – 8pm, Monday – Friday, EST. Please provide either the order number or the purchasers name and address so we are able to locate the original order.

  1. Sign-in to your online account.
  2. Select the Order/Status History link.
  3. Click the Order History link and locate the order you wish to return.
  4. Click the Order Number to view the details of your order.
  5. Make a note of the order number and the items you would like to return or exchange.
  6. Include this note in your securely packed shipping container.
  7. Follow the Return Directions above, for Non Pre-Paid Returns.

Free Return Pick-Ups

Use your pre-paid shipping label to make a return and the United States Postal Service will provide free carrier pick-up for Merchandise Returns. Simply affix the pre-paid, pre-addressed return label, included with your original shipment, to your package and follow the directions below.

  1. Pick-up service is free, regardless of the number of packages you are sending.
  2. Your postal carrier will pick-up your package(s) when you regular mail is delivered.
  3. Maximum weight per package is 70lbs.
  4. Packages must be ready for shipment before your carrier arrives.
  5. Schedule a Pickup for the next delivery day.

Furniture Return Policy

We carry a variety of furniture pieces. If one of these furniture items does not meet your expectations, it may be returned for a refund or exchange within 30 days of delivery. Furniture must be returned in like-new condition with original packaging and materials. Customers are responsible for any return shipping costs. After 30 days, we will replace or refund your purchase for manufacturer defect.

In order to process your return or exchange we request that all swimwear and intimate apparel be returned in unused condition with the original packaging and tags in place.

Refund/Exchange Status

Transit Time

Refunds and exchanges are typically received within 2 - 3 weeks from the time that you mail them. Once we receive your return in our distribution center, please allow 2 business days for it to process. If you have paid with a gift card we will mail a new gift card to your billing address for the refund amount.

Track a Pre-Paid Return

Click the link below and enter the 15 character order number found on the upper left hand corner of your packing slip. From the date you mail your return, please allow 2-3 business days for tracking information to become available, and 2-3 weeks for your return to be processed & credited. If you no longer have the order number from your packing slip, and would like to track your return, contact us for assistance.

Notification of Return/Exchange

Once your return is processed we'll send an email to notify you. If you've requested an exchange a second email will be sent once we've processed your new order. We are unable to guarantee that exchange merchandise will be available at the time your order is processed; in these instances your original form of payment will be refunded. If you indicated that you are returning a gift, we’ll send a gift card for the value of the refund to the address you specified on the packing list.

Credit Card Refunds

A credit will post to your credit card account approximately two business days after the date we process your return, however, it may take up to two billing cycles for the credit to appear on your monthly billing statement.
