Payment, Tax & VAT

Payment is to be made in GBP or Euros. International credit card providers or banks (excluding UK or EU) will determine the exchange rate, and may add an additional processing or administration charge which the cardholder will be liable to pay.

All product prices shown on the website are inclusive of any applicable UK VAT. This means that the total price you pay for the product is always the same, regardless of whether or not UK VAT is chargeable on our sale of the product.

For those customers wishing to claim back VAT on orders outside of the EU, unfortunately we do not refund any VAT requests.

What Do I Need To Know About Furniture Delivery?

Our furniture requires its own special delivery and returns process. Here's all the info you will need:

Booking A Delivery Slot

We've entrusted the job of delivering your furniture to the capable hands of Martin Bros. Ltd Couriers and MK Mail & Logistics. They believe in keeping people in the loop, so they'll give you a call to let you know when you can expect them (a few days in advance of delivery), on the number you provided on your order.

There's no automated tracking for furniture, but rest assured Martin Bros. Ltd or MK Mail & Logistics will call you a few days in advance of delivery to book your slot. We ask that you are available within the slot provided to you as our couriers will be unable to deliver outside of this time (they will call you 30 minutes to an hour before they make the delivery).

Martin Bros. Ltd and MK Mail & Logistics deliver Monday to Friday only, in working hours, between 7.30am and 6pm.

Preparing for your furniture delivery

  • Martin Bros. Ltd and MK Mail & Logistics deliver all items to the front door, so make sure you're ready to carry them over the threshold.
  • Make sure you take note of the item measurements before you order. Remember, it needs to be able to get through your front door, so measure it before ordering.
  • Some items are self-assembly; these items will not be assembled by Martin Bros. Ltd or MK Mail & Logistics and will arrive flat packed.
  • Martin Bros. Ltd and MK Mail & Logistics can unpack your items and dispose of all packing for an additional charge of £20.
  • Martin Bros. Ltd and MK Mail & Logistics normally make two attempts at delivery. If unsuccessful, they will call you to say they are experiencing difficulties.

Will You Deliver To My University Address?

Yes we do deliver to university addresses.

Please ensure you have entered the correct information such as; room number, name of residency hall, building, block or department.

Are There Any Exclusions For International Delivery?

Unfortunately not everything we sell online is eligible for international delivery, for reasons connected with logistics, warranties and legalities. Here's a list of exclusions:

  • All electrical items(including those with batteries)
  • Lighting (except lampshades)
  • Furniture (including outdoor)
  • Blinds, curtain poles and tracks
  • Rugs
  • Mirrors
  • Crackers and candles
  • Liquids, powders and aerosols
  • Beauty products
  • Food and drink substances
  • Wood
  • Knives/scissors
  • Paints, glues and products containing these items (e.g. toys)
  • Watches
  • Bikes

Make sure you check this list before ordering, as we can't be held responsible for goods held in customs.

Do I Have To Pay Customs Or Duty Charges?

If you're ordering products to be delivered outside of the EU, they may be subject to taxes, fees, levies or other charges due to local laws or customs rules. Whoever your order is addressed to is responsible for all customs costs associated with the import of the products, and will be required to pay any additional charges for international delivery. These include import duty, formal customs entry, taxes, levies and other charges that apply outside the EU. If you're ordering products to be delivered to someone else, make sure that they're aware that they'll need to cover this before you order.

Unfortunately we have no control over these charges and cannot offer assistance on these processes. We recommend that you check the import charges applicable in any non-EU country before ordering products to be delivered there.

Because you (or the recipient of the products, if different) will be the importer for all international deliveries of the products, it's your responsibility to check that any products ordered comply with state and federal government import regulations, and that there are no local requirements or restrictions which may affect your goods. Make sure you check this before you order.

If your order gets stuck in customs, you or the recipient will need to contact your local customs office and pay any additional charges or taxes to release the goods. Urban Outfitters cannot do this on your behalf.

What happens if I'm not in when my order arrives?

If you're out when your package arrives, the carrier will leave a card telling you where it is. This will either tell you that they have left it in a safe place or give you details on how to pick up your order or rearrange delivery.

Can I Change My Delivery Address?

We start processing your order as soon as it is submitted, so unfortunately we are unable to change the delivery addresses once the order has been placed.

Please note that any changes you make to your account after an order has been placed will not take effect.

My order is missing items, what should I do?

Can't see all the items you ordered. Don't worry, your order is being delivered in more than one parcel. As soon as we've sent out the remaining items, we'll send you an email confirming this, alongside all the details on how to track your parcel.

Click & Collect

What is Click & Collect?

From October 2015, orders made on our website will have the option of being delivered free to Urban Outfitters stores for collection. This will appear as a delivery option at the checkout, and items will be ready for collection from our store within 3-5 working days.

Which stores will I be able to Click & Collect from?

We’re running the Click & Collect service in a small number of our stores to begin with. From October 2015, Click & Collect will be available at Cardiff, Glasgow, Newcastle, White City, Kensington High Street and Marble Arch.

How do I Click & Collect my order?

Click on the In-Store Availability box on the product page to see if the item you’re ordering is available for Click & Collect. If the item is available to be collected in store, there will be an option to Buy Now + Collect In Store. You’ll be able to collect within 3-5 working days of ordering.

When you’ve placed your order, you will receive a confirmation email, and then a second email once the item is ready to be collected. You will not be able to collect your order until you receive the second email, so make sure you’ve received that before you try.

How do I know when my order is ready for collection?

You will receive an email once the order is ready for collection.

What do I need to bring to collect my order?

Please bring your ‘Ready For Collection’ email. You can either print this out or bring it on your phone.

Can someone else collect an order for me?

Yes. As long as they have the ‘Ready For Collection’ email handy, someone else can pick up your order for you.

Where in the store can I go to collect my order?

You can pick up your orders at specific till points in the stores. The location of each till point will be included in your ‘Ready For Collection’ email. You can also look for Click & Collect signage in store or ask any employee for help.

How long will orders be held in store?

Items will be held for 10 days once they are ready for collection. You will receive an email once the item is ready for collection, a reminder email 4 days later and a cancellation email if you do not pick up the order within 10 days.

What happens if I am unable to collect my order within the collection window?

If you do not pick up your order within the 10 day collection window, your order will automatically cancelled and you will not be charged for the items. Any hold that may have appeared on your card will be released.

When will I be charged?

Your card will be authorised once you have completed the online purchase and a hold will appear on your account, but you will not be charged until you arrive and collect your order.

Who do I contact with any questions about my Click & Collect order?

If you’ve got specific questions about your Click & Collect order that can’t be answered here, please contact our Customer Service Team with your order number.

Can I return my Click & Collect order?

Yes, Urban Outfitters’ standard return policy applies to Click & Collect orders.

Are there any products that are excluded from Click & Collect?

Yes, some items may be restricted from Click & Collect due to limited availability and size restrictions. Please contact our Customer Service Team with any questions regarding product availability.
